AirAsia Cambodia (KT, Phnom Penh) has commenced operations after securing its air operator's certificate from Cambodia's State Secretariat of Civil Aviation. The LCC's first day of operation was May 2, 2024, operating eight sectors on the day.

“We are honoured to jointly celebrate the birth of our seventh AirAsia-branded airline with our guests," said AirAsia Aviation Group CEO Bo Lingam. "Leveraging our strong foothold in ASEAN, AirAsia Cambodia is set to provide connectivity to over 130 destinations across Asia and beyond."

According to ADS-B flight data, AirAsia Cambodia's single A320-200, XU-819 (msn 5109) - which it ferried in two weeks ago - flew Phnom Penh-Siem Reap New Angkor International-Sihanoukville-Siem Reap-Phnom Penh in the morning before repeating the same rotation later in the day. The flight time is around 30 minutes on the Phnom Penh-Siem Reap city pair and 40 minutes between Sihanoukville and Siem Reap.

AirAsia Aviation Group carriers already fly into Phnom Penh, with AirAsia (AK, Kuala Lumpur International) operating scheduled services from Kuala Lumpur and Thai AirAsia (FD, Bangkok Don Mueang) coming in from Bangkok. The two airlines offer a combined 63 services a week into Cambodia.
