Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe announced Thursday the appointment of Katie Sinquefield, of Columbia, to the Missouri Sentencing Advisory Commission.

According to a news release from the governor's office, Sinquefield has currently been serving as a volunteer in the community, as well as advocating for criminal-justice reform. Prior to today's appointment, Sinquefield has been serving on the Missouri State Public Defender Commission.

Sinquefield is also a graduate of University of Missouri, holding bachelor's and master's degrees from MU.

In addition to Sinquefield's appointment, David Martin, of Vienna, was appointed as the Maries County coroner.

Martin currently owns KLM Funeral Homes in Vienna, Dixon and Crocker, Missouri. Martin currently holds licenses from both the Missouri Funeral Directors & Embalmers Association.
