THE GIRLS RANGE FROM SIXTH GRADE TO HIGH SCHOOL, AND THEY TOOK PART IN WORKSHOPS, TOURED THE CAPITOL AND MET WITH LAWMAKERS. THE GOAL WAS TO TEACH THEM ABOUT CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, ADVOCACY AND HOW TO TAKE PART IN OUR DEMOCRACY. WE WERE DOING SESSIONS ON CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, VOTER MOBILIZATION, ADVOCACY. WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR DEMOCRACY? AND WE HAD SPEAKERS FROM ORGANIZATIONS LIKE NAWBO, THE CALIFORNIA COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN AND GIRLS, THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS, AND ALL THESE SPECIAL GUESTS THAT CAME IN AND SPOKE TO OUR GIRL SCOUTS FROM ACROSS THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA ON THESE TOPICS. Girl Scouts ranging from sixth grade to high school visited the Capitol on Friday for the second day of their educational trip. Girl Scouts ranging from sixth grade to high school visited the Capitol on Friday for the second day of their educational trip.
