Turkmenistan, being responsible for each of its citizens, ensures the creation of conditions for the free development of an individual, one of which is freedom of movement, the State Migration Service of the country said in a statement.
In order to ensure freedom of movement, every citizen of Turkmenistan is issued a biometric passport for leaving Turkmenistan and entering Turkmenistan for a period of five years.
The Constitution of Turkmenistan and the Migration Act grant the right to freedom of movement and choice of residence to every citizen of Turkmenistan, irrespective of age, race, sex, language, religion, place of residence, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, official or other status.
"No citizen of Turkmenistan can be deprived of the right to leave Turkmenistan and enter Turkmenistan," the information says.
The right of a citizen of Turkmenistan to enter his or her own country is not restricted under any circumstances. A citizen of Turkmenistan is not subject to expulsion from the country.
